An anthology series about high-profile crimes or murderers in the public eye and fame.. Evan Peters [Jeffrey Dahmer] says they had one rule from Ryan Murphy [creator]: Never say never. "As an audience, you don’t really sympathize with him. You don’t really put up with his plight. You know you’re watching it from the outside.". Many episodes feature a 3M Command(TM) strip in the kitchen of Jeffery Dahmer’s apartment, this one in 1991.
3M launched its first wave of Command(TM) products in 1996.. This is a miniseries detailing the horrific crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer. The lead role is played by Evan Peters who is brilliant. No campy stuff here, Dahmer plays with total conviction and seriousness. Richard Jenkins plays Dahmer’s father, effectively using flashbacks from Dahmer’s childhood and adolescence to explain how he did it. He is great as a man broken by years of unhappiness.
Penelope Ann Miller is wonderful in her brief role as Dahmer’s unstable, UFO-chasing mother. Niecy Nash plays a small role as Dahmer’s neighbor. Her scenes are the most terrifying and unsettling, not for what you see, but for the sounds she endures. The acting is very good. The actors playing his victims were perfect in conveying the terror. Brown plays Tracy Edwards, the victim of the first episode. The scene had me on the edge of my seat. Without going into detail, the scene takes place mainly in Dahmer’s apartment. You can almost imagine the "smell" From the scenes. Although it looks scary, it effectively creates a secret viewing. Again, the topic is very dark and difficult to endure.
The series takes viewers from Dahmer’s childhood through his trial and imprisonment. I felt great sadness for the families of the real-life victims, the survivors of his crimes, and the neighbors and others scarred by the actions of Dahmer the Monster.

A mosaic-style comedy that follows a woman’s life as time passes through her long-term casual BDSM relationship, a low-level corporate job, and a bickering Jewish family. Anna’s parents.. It is billed as a comedy, although for many the funniest part may be trying to remember the title of the film. Deadpan reaches new heights in this debut feature from actor, writer, director, producer and editor Joanna Arnow. It’s hard to think of any film that belongs more to one person.
Independent filmmaker Miranda July’s work is the closest I can think of, but in comparison, her work is closer to mainstream Spielberg than Ms. Arnow. None of this is meant to be harsh, it’s simply a challenge to describe this movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it…or even someone who has. The film is divided into five chapters, each named according to the key "other" characters (not named Ann). Here we find out that she is 33 years old and has been Allen’s submissive since she was 24 years old.
In fact, two chapters are called “Allen” and Ann even implies that they were “Allen”. She makes this statement after several attempts to try the modern approach to dating, each of which creates complications for her. Presented as vignettes, these ventures include a musician, a sleepover with a sister, a role-playing customer, matches on a dating app, and a movie buff with a love of pickled herring. To top it all off, these interactions provide some symmetry to Anna’s mindless job at a generic corporation. Imagine being rewarded with annual recognition after working there for over three years.
You’re starting to get a sense of Anna’s personality…a little less than you remember. Ann is flabby and grumpy, and her deadpan delivery masks a sharp wit and spark that rarely comes across in others. As she begins to form a more traditional relationship with Chris (Babak Tafti, “Billions”), her path to self-discovery seems to open up… Some of the vignettes are shockingly brief, and many show Ann in an exposed (literally) state of vulnerability. As the vignettes pass, watching is no different than scrolling through a feed.
Joanna Arnow’s real parents (David Arnow, Barbara Weiserbs) play her parents here and sing the only raised voices in the film when they sing the animated version of “Solidarity”. Sometimes this 'comedy' it feels like a defeat, but it teaches us one key life lesson: be careful when you first ask, “What college did you go to?”. Opens April 26, 2024.
